

Meet Rhonda
Hylton
Dr. Rhonda Hylton was born and raised in Georgia. Deeply tied to her Southern roots, she was taught early on to love others, to value education, and to serve her community. These ideals led her to explore and pursue many avenues of education. Since 2011, Dr. Hylton has worked in public education systems and has served in a variety of roles, including middle school teacher, adjunct college instructor, content area instructional coach, and university instructor.
Currently, Dr. Hylton is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education, Health, and Human Services at Kent State University, where she earned her degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Literacy. She works in the Adolescent and Young Adult Education program. Dr. Hylton also holds a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature; a Master’s degree in Teaching with a concentration in Secondary Education; and a Bachelor’s degree in English.
